The Lord of the DanceThe international phenomenon ‘The Lord of the Dance’ returns to London as part of its UK tour and runs from the 22nd to the 26th of May at the Hammersmith Apollo. The show created and directed by Michael Flatley continues to break box office records and perform throughout the world, with the current tour still leaving audiences spellbound and clamouring for more. The story is based on Irish folklore and centres on the main character ‘The Lord of the Dance’ and his fight against the evil dark lord ‘Don Dorcha’ from taking over the planet. The show has catapulted Irish music further into the limelight after ‘Riverdance’ broke onto the music scene in 1994 at the Eurovision song contest. The Lord of Dance reaches spectacular new heights with spine tingling dance sequences including over 100 dancers on stage at once, masterfully orchestrated music and state of the art lighting and pyrotechnics. Michael Flatley starred in the lead role ‘The Lord of The Dance’ 390 times before finally stepping down in 1998; he continues to have creative control as director in order to ensure the shows continued high standards and ground breaking direction.
