Sophie’s Steakhouse – ‘Booking not required, really?’

Every now and then the guys and girls at Refresh Accommodation come across what can only be described as one of the best hidden gems in London! That’s our view not theirs, but don’t be mistaken the reputation of this dinning venue is well known by locals but for visitors to Chelsea and South Kensington you must go along and judge for yourself. It’s situated in a trendy setting just on the Fulham Road and a stones through away from cinemas and what can only described as a myriad of drinking establishments! ‘Sophie’s Steakhouse’ offers a great place to dine, whether you’re looking for a relaxed evening meal or great business lunch venue. Sophie’s gives a New York warehouse feel to its surroundings, with exposed brickwork and wooden flooring at each of the restaurants we dinned in. The Chelsea restaurant has a more vibrant atmosphere which lends to a better dinning experience, rather than the quick style turn around that we experienced at the Covent Garden location. We would highly recommend the Sophie’s Covent for pre or post theatre dining but we feel it doesn’t quite have the atmosphere of the flagship restaurant in Chelsea,,, not yet anyway!
Sophie’s Steakhouse offers a simple and uncomplicated menu which offers great value in comparison to its competitors for both lunch and evening dining. The express lunchtime menu offering a two course meal from £12.50 is available Monday to Sunday. Alternatively if something a little more filling is what is needed, Sophie’s has the 20OZ CHÂTEAUBRIAND or the Rib eye steak at just £9.95 being the most favoured preference for us and it seemed most of the other dinners! Not only is the food delightful but the service is impeccable, we didn’t get seated immediately but the bar area was great to get a pre meal drink in and nibble on the bar snacks.
Although Sophie’s Steakhouse can get a bit busy this is just a testament to the good food and even if you may have to wait, where better then at the bar, with an excellent choice of beers, wines and cocktails.
